We aim to provide support to the large and growing section of the UK elderly population who are living alone, isolated and feeling vulnerable.

Terry Williams

Terry’s career in the petrochemical industry spanned more than 50 years as principal consultant and project director working for large corporate companies such as BP, Shell and National Grid.

He ran his own consultancy business for 10 years. He has extensive commercial experience of international business development at a high level.

He has previously been a trustee for other charities, supporting fundraising, volunteer recruitment and befriending. Terry is now Chair of Trustees for We Are Listening with main responsibilities for fundraising.

Lesley Fry

Lesley has spent most of her career in the professional and financial services sectors and is a versatile and talented business manager with a strong operational background and proven project and change management skills.

Lesley’s recent experience includes 3.5 years as Director of Programmes at Omega, the National Association for End of Life Care, where she was responsible for service delivery of all programmes, volunteer recruitment and retention.

Howard Rutherford

Howard Rutherford is a retired Orthopaedic Surgeon. He trained at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, later at Oswestry and moved to Darlington in 1988.

While in the North East he founded and built Woodlands Hospital, a forty bed two theatre private hospital. He was also a Trustee for the Great North Air Ambulance combining his medical knowhow with many years experience as a pilot.

For the past seven years he has served as a Trustee for another local charity with his main contribution being the design and construction of a cloud based database which was essential during the Covid period.
